About this time last year, I quit my job to heed the call of adventure – a Working Holiday stint in New Zealand. It was a mission that hit all my wanderlust muscles in the right direction. Since then, I’ve been getting a buttload of questions about the application process and job prospects, so I figured the most effective way to help the most people is with a QnA blogpost.
It was a beautiful Friday morning in Colorado, USA. We just lived through a numbingly cold winter and now we’ve eased into spring. The air was crisp and fresh, the April 2009 sky was a clear blue and rays of sunlight decorated the ground. It hasn’t snowed in a while too – a perfect day to be jumping out of an airplane.
“Dunner Stunner” Dunedin is the quintessential university town in good ol’ New Zealand and it does not pretend to be anything else. The first thing you’ll notice on the streets is the amount of young, privileged, international students that the public school kid in you (or maybe just me) is secretly jealous of.
